Morocco does not hold a close relationship with the FIFA world cup, with the nation only being able to qualify for the world cup, on six occasions, out of a possible 15 tournaments that were available to them. This is also the second time they have managed to qualify for two Fifa world cup finals in a row, since 1994 and 1998.
Their best-ever finish was when they managed to qualify for the last 16 way back in 1986. Their record with AFCON is far better, with 18 qualifications out of a possible 33, and winning the competition proper once, back in 1976. Ever since 2004, they haven’t managed to go beyond the quarter-finals in AFCON, which also suggests their lack of quality in the squad and roster at the disposal of the national team.
Morocco Team FIFA World Cup Kits
Puma is the kit manufacturer for Morocco, and the emblem of the Moroccan FA is on the opposite side of the Puma logo, and this is the case for both sets of jerseys. They are travelling to Qatar with two kits in their wardrobe; the first kit is predominantly red, whereas the second kit is predominantly white. The Moroccan kits are one that will divide opinions.
The red kit is the personification of their national flag, with the use of green and red all over the kit. Red is quite visible, but the use of green around the kit is sensible in that it doesn’t overshadow the red, but it stands out itself. The green is used on the sleeves as well as the collar, with a single middle stripe horizontally which includes the emblem of the FA and a middle space where the puma logo sits.
The white kit is somewhat different in the sense that it is much more aesthetic in its appearance. The white kit has a design native to Morocco in a light and darker shade of white centred around, which also harbours the emblem of the jersey. The red and green appear on the sleeves and the collar. Between the two kits, white is much more beautiful, in my opinion.
